Drawings at Wooden Robot Brewery

This drawing from my Weight Series of figure drawings is on display at the Wooden Robot Brewery. The Brewery is located on Bland Street just off South Tryon. The painting hangs right across from the bar.  They have awesome beer in addition to the art! This drawing is 6 feet tall on paper. I used graphite and white charcoal as teh mediums. I drew from a live model.

Figure Acrylic Painting Demonstration

This is a recent painting demonstration I did for my Life & Gesture Drawing class.  This is 5 layers of acrylic paint with color pencil on top.  I painted this using watercolor painting techniques.

This is a panoramic of my studio during September and October 2015.  My large figures are displayed.  That includes drawings, sketches and paintings.

Fire Series

Here is another painting in my fire series.  This is a small painting, 8 x 12 acrylic on canvas.  I painted around the edge on this one, even putting my signature on the edge.  In the ground, I used some of the metallic paints from Golden paints.  This adds a great reflective quality to the an otherwise less important part of the painting. I am very happy with the many layers in the back ground.  There are parts of the back ground that are very dark violet in contrast with the bright orange flames.
