Last two cityscapes in new Series

Just worked on this yesterday: Camp North End! I went by there for the Van Gogh exhibit, I could add more lights!

Love being able to see the sky through the building; the Common Market in SouthEnd Charlotte. Such a cool building!

Living Room Painting

The Living Room is a Frame Shop in Charlotte. It used to be in this building on Camden Road. This painting is a tribute to the location in South End Charlotte. Drawing above.

Painting in the large areas. Most of the time each area will take several layers to finish. Except the sky, you have to get that right the first time.

More detail and the major shadow.

Detail for the motorcycle.
Final painting!

Drawings at Wooden Robot Brewery

This drawing from my Weight Series of figure drawings is on display at the Wooden Robot Brewery. The Brewery is located on Bland Street just off South Tryon. The painting hangs right across from the bar.  They have awesome beer in addition to the art! This drawing is 6 feet tall on paper. I used graphite and white charcoal as teh mediums. I drew from a live model.
